Princess makes first public appearance since diagnosis

Duchess of Cambridge says she is 'still undergoing treatment'

Kate, Princess of Wales, has made her first public appearance since announcing her cancer diagnosis, attending the Trooping the Colour parade for King Charles III's birthday celebrations.

The Princess, who is still undergoing treatment, was spotted smiling and waving from a carriage alongside her husband, Prince William, and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

In a new written message on Friday, Kate said: "I'm still undergoing treatment for cancer, but I'm determined to attend the Trooping the Colour. I'm so grateful for the support of my family and friends during this difficult time."

Kate's appearance at the parade marks her first public engagement since she announced her diagnosis in March.

The Princess of Wales is a member of the British royal family and is married to Prince William, the eldest son of King Charles III.

Catherine Elizabeth Middleton was born on January 9, 1982, and is the daughter of Carole and Michael Middleton.

She married Prince William in 2011 and the couple have three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
